My Wife's Best Friend review

The setup

Anna's best friend from college is staying for the week after a bad breakup, and her husband does a double take: the guest is Riley Reid. Anna breezily confirms it, adds that Riley has quit the business, and jokes that he may have seen her work. He denies it badly. Riley, amused, mentions she has been toying with a comeback. Then Anna leaves for work until six, tells them to play nice, and Riley learns that he does his job from the house. She is delighted by the arrangement.

Episode 2

Episode 2 is an interrogation disguised as small talk. Riley asks when the couple last slept together, brushes off his plea for privacy, and reveals that Anna tells her everything. That includes the night they watched Riley's videos together, and the fact that nothing since has matched it. Her theory is brutal: it was never about Anna. He protests that she is his wife's best friend, and Riley turns that objection into her argument. Then she cites her professional experience.

Who's who

• Riley Reid: the retired adult star turned houseguest, curious, direct, and already briefed on everything
• The husband: a remote-working spouse whose poker face collapses at the first question
• Anna: the wife, warm and trusting, and apparently a world-class oversharer

Verdict: 7.1 out of 10

Episode 1 is pleasant setup, but episode 2 is where this earns its keep. The idea that Anna has been feeding Riley every private detail turns a standard houseguest fantasy into something sharper: the temptation is built from the couple's own history. Riley plays it like a therapist with an agenda, funny and slightly unnerving. The husband is a pushover, and Anna never gets a voice of her own. Even so, few free samples end with a twist this pointed, and the paid episodes look like a reasonable gamble.
