About The Short List

An independent desk that reviews every Candy AI short it can judge, scores it out of 10 and prints the numbers behind the score. Who we are, how we work, who pays.

Who writes the reviews

A small editorial desk that publishes as The Short List. You will not find made-up critics or personal bylines here; what carries our name is the method, laid out on how we score, and the data behind it, on by the numbers.

How a review is made

We count Candy's whole catalog every few days (7 counts since October 6, 2026), time episode 1 of each series from the video file and read the dialogue of the free episodes in Candy's subtitles. The review and two of the five scores come from that reading; the other three are computed from prices and lengths. We also keep a free Candy login, which is how we see what members see, the Spicy tier included.

What we do not publish

No video, no clips, no leaks and no links to pirated episodes. Posters appear as Candy shows them, except one that shows a high school report card, which we replace with an illustration of our own; series whose free episodes point to school settings or to a character who could read as under 18 get no review. Candy's characters are all built by AI and pitched as grown-ups, and our reviews treat them as such.

Where the money comes from

The arrow links to Candy AI carry a referral code of ours, and a subscription that begins from one of them can earn the site a fee from Candy. The arrangement cannot buy a score: three of the five parts are arithmetic on Candy's own numbers, and the other two are printed with the reasons next to them.

Not Candy

The Short List is not part of Candy AI or of EverAI Limited, the company behind it. Questions about a Candy account, a payment or a refund belong to Candy's support; we cannot see or change anything there.

Something wrong?

With 184 series moving every week, a figure will sometimes trail the catalog. Send us a note and we check it at the next count.
