The setup

Mia Malkova teaches a fitness class like a stand-up set, and every cue doubles as innuendo: someone is tight, someone is stiff, someone is hauling far too much tension around. One reluctant man in the room insists his body was not made for this. He also has a wedding coming up, wants flexibility and stamina before it, and jumps at her offer of private sessions with nobody watching. Stamina, she purrs, happens to be her area. Then she leaves to unwind, he drifts somewhere strictly off-limits, and the episode ends with him scolding himself.

Episode 2

Episode 2 opens on the cover story: he swears he was only checking whether a room was free and saw nothing. Mia suggests he look again, then prescribes a massage, since a groom three weeks out should not bring that much stress to his honeymoon. The masseuse is warm, chatty and proud of her hands, right up until Mia turns up mid-massage and asks, very politely, whether she should keep going.

Verdict: 5.5 out of 10

Private Lessons runs on a single joke, that fitness vocabulary is secretly all about sex, and it tells that joke loudly. Mia Malkova sells it with total conviction, which helps, and the move from studio to massage room gives episode 2 a sharper shape than the first. The groom is a mannequin with a wedding date. If watching Mia steer a nervous man around by his schedule appeals, the rest is a reasonable bet. Anyone after an actual story should keep walking.
