The setup
Mona has a gift for bad timing. She walks in on her stepbrother mid-video, demands to know whether the woman onscreen was hotter than her, and refuses to drop the subject. Then her mother, Linda, asks him to ferry Mona to her workout, and he ends up walking in on her changing, at her own invitation. She mocks his girlfriend, Kaylee, threatens to invent an affair, and then takes a tumble into the pool mid-argument. He panics. She gloats that he does care after all.
Episode 2
Episode 2 opens with Mona, still annoyed about that pool, commandeering his shower because her own bathroom supposedly runs cold. She sniffs his soap, borrows his shirt, and acts as if all of it is perfectly normal. Then Kaylee arrives, Linda cheerfully sends the couple upstairs, and Mona follows with a flimsy excuse for being in his room. Kaylee clocks it. The episode ends with him stumbling through a vague answer about his evening plans.
Who's who
- Mona: the stepsister with zero boundaries, a sharp tongue and a talent for making scenes
- The stepbrother: harried, attached and losing a war over a door that will not stay shut
- Kaylee: the girlfriend, polite on arrival and quick to notice details out of place
Viewers who like chaotic step-sibling taboo played as a sitcom of interruptions, with a brat who never runs out of nerve.
You want tight writing: scenes ramble, the dialogue loops, and the second cliffhanger is a man listing errands.
Verdict: 6.0 out of 10
Mona is the whole show, and she is exhausting in a way that feels intentional. The first episode is a parade of barged doors and insults aimed at the girlfriend, capped by a pool accident she spins into a victory. Episode 2 gets closer to real tension once Kaylee is in the house, but it fizzles on a rambling non-answer. There is energy here and very little shape. Paying on depends on your tolerance for chaos standing in for plot.
