The setup

Sofia sends Jake off to his big conference with pancakes, a pep talk and a promise about dessert when he gets back. It is a warm, slightly corny breakfast, and then he is gone until Monday. Minutes later a text arrives: a friend will swing by with a graphics card upgrade and knows the drill. Sofia's reaction is somewhere between surprise and exasperation. The doorbell rings, she opens up to a man she has apparently never met, and the episode ends on a polite welcome.

Episode 2

The second episode is pure logistics. The friend explains the card has to be in before Monday, Sofia points him to Jake's office, then mentions she is about to work out and hopes he does not mind. He does not. Some time later he announces the job is finished and calls her name into a suspiciously quiet house. That is the cliffhanger, and it is a short one: a man, a finished install and an unanswered call.

Almost nothing happens here, and the pacing makes no apology for it. The breakfast scene establishes a happy couple, the text sets the trap, and the install gives the friend an excuse to stay. Every beat is pure setup, with hardly a line between Sofia and the visitor. The title promises a conquest the free episodes never begin. You would be paying on faith that the workout and the silent house lead somewhere worth the wait.
