The setup
His father leaves until Sunday night with one request for his wife: keep his son away from the books. Riley Reid plays that wife, and she takes the job seriously. She asks her stepson about girlfriends at college, is pleased by the answer, and catches him looking at her in a way she says his father never does. Instead of embarrassment, she offers approval. A movie night gets booked, his choice of genre, and she runs through the long list of things his father refuses to enjoy. It clicks for him just as she offers to share more.
Episode 2
Episode 2 picks up mid-movie with Riley asking for consent, just before his father interrupts to ask how they are getting along. Both answer with straight faces and a pile of double meanings. Then she climbs into his bed and improvises a story about someone kept awake by a stepmom who wanders around in silk, offering more than once to leave if he asks. He never asks. The episode ends with her taking charge of his education.
Who's who
- Riley Reid: the stepmom, patient, teasing and openly bored with her absent husband
- The stepson: home from college, single, and a beat behind every hint she drops
- Dad: offscreen most of the time, and the unwitting straight man when he checks in
Fans of slow, teasing stepmom fantasies built on double meanings, with consent checked out loud and the husband one call away.
You want more than one pet name and one plan: the stepmom repeats both relentlessly.
Verdict: 5.9 out of 10
Polished and predictable in equal measure. The writing understands that tension lives in ordinary details, a movie choice, a parental check-in, a husband being casually insulted, and it lets Riley take her time. The best moment is the interruption from Dad, where every harmless answer doubles as a wink. The repeated pet name wears thin, and the stepson is mostly a reaction shot. Still, the free episodes build to a clear point, and anyone charmed by Riley's pacing will want the rest.
