The setup
Ethan spent four years as Sadie's favorite target, and now their parents have married, which makes her his stepsister. She greets the news with horror and the same old nickname, and the two of them are assigned one bathroom between them. An accidental eyeful follows, then a standoff over whose turn it is, and somewhere in the middle his former tormentor notices he has improved. By the end she proposes a trade: if he confesses she is still on his mind, she will make amends for the misery.
Episode 2
His answer opens episode 2: yes, every day, for years. She takes the win and locks his bedroom door behind her while both parents are home downstairs. The danger arrives as her mother wanders the ground floor asking where Sadie went, and nobody downstairs has a clue. With every noise suddenly dangerous, she retires the old insult for good and orders total silence before the cut.
Who's who
- Sadie: his longtime tormentor turned stepsister, still using the nickname, now with a different tone
- Ethan: four years as her punchline, now sharing a bathroom with her and losing composure fast
- Her mother: Ethan's new stepmom, searching downstairs and one noise away from the truth
Viewers who like enemies-to-lovers with a step-family twist, where years of insults become the flirting and the parents are one floor away.
You want the bullying addressed with any real weight: here it mostly serves as foreplay with a nickname.
Verdict: 6.4 out of 10
Revenge of the underdog, played as a flirtation. The nickname does heavy lifting, shifting from insult to pet name across two episodes, and the shared bathroom is an efficient engine for the first one. Episode 2 trades comedy for tension with parents downstairs, a sensible escalation even if the dialogue thins out. Sadie carries it: her apology arrives entirely on her own terms. If that reversal amuses you, the rest is tempting.
