Couples Therapy With Margot Vey review

The setup

Tessa has signed her boyfriend Jake up for therapy, hoping to get him repaired, and Jake's first thought on meeting Margot Vey is that this will be a problem, because naturally she is gorgeous. Margot opens with a question about how often Tessa actually gets satisfied, rejects the answer about frequency, and learns that Tessa always has to make the first move. She orders them both to stand, asks Tessa to show what Jake gets to look at, and watches her tremble. Then Margot clears Jake's calendar: a session alone with him, immediately, and much deeper.

Episode 2

The private session opens with Margot telling Jake to relax, which he cannot, because Tessa is waiting just outside. Margot calls her wandering hands part of the job and reads his reactions back to him like test results. Tessa can see everything, and that, Margot explains, is the entire exercise. Then the patient list grows: she decides Tessa needs the same lesson, waves her into the room and orders her closer.

Margot Vey arrives fully formed: precise questions, no small talk, and a habit of turning every answer into an instruction. The setup is cleverer than it needs to be, because the boyfriend sent in for fixing becomes the one she keeps for a private hour. Episode 2 settles the question of Tessa fast: she is not sidelined but enrolled, watching first and then summoned. That turns a cheating setup into a lesson with two students, and Margot's deadpan bedside manner makes the syllabus tempting.
