The setup
Bragging is how he opens: for their anniversary, his wife has booked him a deluxe massage with a therapist reserved months in advance. He, meanwhile, bought her a candle, a fact that dawns on him too late. She turns down the option to join him, insists the day is all his, and settles in next door to work, popping in now and then to check on him. The therapist pegs him as tightly wound, trades dry puns with him about relaxing, and closes the episode by handing him a single garment to wear, with nothing underneath.
Episode 2
The intake questions become a comedy routine. Rings come off because oil and gold do not mix, the wife answers the medical questions for him, and the therapist turns a mobility check into a double meaning. When the wife wanders off hunting a charger, the door gets closed to hold in the heat, and the missing ring is a talking point. It ends with the wife checking in and the therapist reminding him that his wife booked the complete package.
Who's who
- The husband: an underachieving gift-giver whose anniversary candle suddenly looks very cheap
- The therapist: booked solid for months, unflappable, and fond of a double meaning
- The wife: generous, thorough, and working one wall away with excellent timing
Viewers who like slow-tease comedy built on wordplay, with a spouse close enough to interrupt at any moment.
You prefer action to banter: both free episodes run on talk and anticipation more than anything on the table.
Verdict: 6.7 out of 10
On the strength of the free episodes, this is one of the better-written setups around. The candle confession is a great self-own, the therapist's puns are dry rather than desperate, and the wife keeps wandering in with questions about oils and chargers, giving the scene a ticking rhythm. Episode 2 sharpens it: the rings removed for the oil come back as a weapon, and the wife's own gift becomes the closing line. The minute is still mostly preamble, but the voice here earns real trust.
