The setup
An employee is held at the office until the deck is complete, and her boss, Mr. Kane, makes it clear that leaving early is not an option. She works on in near silence while he hovers. When she finally announces it is done, he quizzes her on what to call him, rejects the formal answer, and waits until she uses his first name, Damian. That is the whole episode: a power game told mostly through looks, with fewer lines than a parking ticket and about as much warmth.
Episode 2
The quiet part gets said early in Episode 2: a promotion is on the table, and the price is obvious. After that the dialogue nearly vanishes again. There is one half-finished protest and one instruction from Kane to drop the shyness, and the rest is left to the camera. Nothing new is learned about either character, and the cliffhanger is less a turn than a pause in the same scene.
Who's who
- Mr. Kane: the boss, Damian to those who earn it, and fond of giving orders
- The employee: overworked, obedient on the clock, and weighing what a promotion is worth
Viewers who want the boss fantasy in its plainest form, with commands, a first name and almost no talking.
You want characters with any texture: these two exchange fewer than a dozen lines across both episodes.
Verdict: 5.3 out of 10
There is a show buried somewhere in this premise, but the free episodes do not dig for it. Kane gives orders, the employee obeys, and the single interesting idea, that the promotion depends on her saying yes, is stated once and abandoned. The production leans entirely on atmosphere, which only works if you already love the trope. As a sample, it gives you almost no reason to pay for the rest beyond curiosity about the visuals.
