The setup
Danny's Cabo fling came with one condition: no identities and no follow-up. Three weeks on, he arrives for dinner at his best friend Luke's house, and she answers the door. She is Marisa, Luke's stepmom, cooking in very little. She thanks Danny for the wine with a dig at Luke. Once Luke heads for the shower, both swear they had no idea. She is married, the husband is away until month's end, and Luke must never know. A shouted question about a hoodie interrupts; she answers it, then points out a conveniently nearby laundry room.

A lot of story for one minute, and none of it feels rushed. The Cabo flashback, the doorstep reveal, a shower that buys them privacy and a husband with a return date land in order. She is calm and wry; he is rattled but honest about three weeks of replaying one night. Luke yelling about a hoodie is a perfect intrusion, and her switch to stepmom mode is the sharpest beat. Her parting tip about the laundry is a real cliffhanger, and the paid rest has a clock to race.
