The setup
Both are new on campus and hunting for the same room, so she suggests they stay lost as a team. Her opening question is whether he has someone. He does, and her name is Chloe, which the new girl seems to take as a dare. Then she has conveniently forgotten her books, her dorm happens to be steps away, and would he help for five minutes? Inside, he wants to grab the books and leave. She tells him to sit, promises a lesson off the syllabus, and meets his nervous joke about her notes with a knowing yes.
Episode 2
His second announcement that he has a girlfriend earns a dry reminder that he mentioned it. She changes anyway, asks if Chloe gets jealous, and calls his answer, that Chloe trusts him, adorable. Then Chloe phones, and the new girl tells him to pick up. Chloe is suddenly free; he pleads a prior commitment. The call ends messily, he protests, and she holds him to his own ten-minute excuse, with Chloe left in the dark.
Who's who
- The new girl: a woman who just moved into the dorms, never named, and fluent in pretexts
- The boyfriend: Chloe's partner, new around here as well, loyal in every sentence and nowhere near the exit
- Chloe: his girlfriend, trusting, a voice on the phone, and suddenly free at the worst moment
Viewers who like a loyal boyfriend under siege, and a seductress whose sharpest weapon is his girlfriend's phone call.
You want more than one trick: the dorm detour is obvious from her first question, and the jokes stay mild.
Verdict: 5.6 out of 10
Anyone who has seen a forgotten-books gambit will clock this one early, and the show seems fine with that. The pleasure is her nerve. She asks about a girlfriend within seconds of meeting him, hears that Chloe trusts him and files it as a weakness, then orders him to take Chloe's call in front of her. He is decent and dull, which slows episode 1 down. Episode 2 is better: the call puts Chloe in earshot, his excuse adds guilt, and the paid episodes inherit a clear question.
