The setup
Brooklyn learns that a stepbrother she has never laid eyes on is coming to stay for two weeks, and her reaction is not dread but a plan. He arrives, makes polite small talk, passes along a compliment from her dad, and has no idea he is walking into a schedule she drafted before he got there. Her voiceover does the heavy lifting: she has done this before, and the men always end up believing they made the first move. The episode closes on her complaining about the heat, which is clearly not a weather report.
Episode 2
Almost nothing is said in Episode 2. Brooklyn calls him upstairs with a fake chore that requires him to reach something for her, then coaches him past his hesitation with a few murmured lines of permission. There is a freeze, a whispered reminder to keep it down, and a return to business. It plays like a mood piece: the plot does not move an inch, but her control of every beat never slips either.
Who's who
- Brooklyn: the stepsister, calm, calculating, and convinced every houseguest is a pushover
- The stepbrother: a polite visitor who is two steps behind from the moment he arrives
Viewers who enjoy a confident schemer narrating her own seduction and prefer mood, glances and voiceover to actual conversation.
You need dialogue: the two leads hardly trade more than a handful of lines across both free episodes.
Verdict: 5.4 out of 10
Brooklyn's voiceover promises a manipulator with a track record, and that is a fun angle. The trouble is that the show never lets her prove it in conversation. Her stepbrother is a cardboard target, the scenes rely on silence and suggestion, and Episode 2 is a single move dressed up as a chapter. It is pleasant to look at and thin to listen to. The paid rest only tempts if her scheming finally gets lines worth hearing.
